Sports Focus Physiotherapy have introduced a Covid Safety fee of $3.30 with each consultation from the 27th September 2021.

Our commitment to all clients and our team members is to offer our essential services in a Covid safe manner following best practice. As a result there are a number of costs relating to specific Covid hygiene practices, PPE and additional cleaning that have significantly added to the cost of providing our services. As a business we want to be transparent and we are sure you will appreciate and understand the need to implement this fee during this challenging period.

Massage Therapy

Sports Focus Physiotherapy offers a range of high quality remedial massage. A wide variety of massage techniques are used to ensure that every Sports Focus client receives the specific treatment they require. These encompass deep tissue massage, pregnancy massage, sports massage, reflexology, trigger point release, and passive stretching.

Sam joined the Sports Focus Physiotherapy team in 2021 after graduating from the University of Sydney in 2018, completing his Masters of Physiotherapy.

As a triathlete that has previously competed for Australia, Sam has personally dealt with his fair share of significant injuries and has an expert understanding of the demands that elite sport can place on the body.

Sam is passionate about getting athletes, no matter what level, back to performing at their best and achieving their goals. He is especially interested in sporting injuries, running related injuries, biomechanical analysis, and lower limb injuries.

As a keen sportsman, Sam also enjoys playing basketball and open water swimming.

Lesa Hogan began at Sports Focus Physiotherapy Castle Hill soon after it opened in 2005. Lesa graduated from the University of Sydney in 1986 and has been a practicing Physiotherapist for 34 years working initially in the public system then combining travel and work in England for a few years before returning to begin working as a private practitioner in Sydney. She owned and operated her own practice in Guildford for 13 years and as part of this developed and a Movement Improvement program for dealing with chronic pelvis, back and neck pain which has fed into “Spine Care” at our Castle Hill Physiotherapy location. Lesa also worked as a Clinical Supervisor with Sydney University and an “Enhanced Primary Care” lecturer at the University of Western Sydney.

Her Spine Care at Castle Hill entails a functional core and spinal exercise and stretching regime individually tailored for each client’s needs. It follows a thorough hands on assessment and treatment consultation and has proven very successful in the management of many spinal conditions. Vanessa has been working as a massage therapist since 2007 and joined Sports Focus Physiotherapy as a Remedial Massage Therapist in 2011. Since then, she has completed a Doctorate of Physiotherapy at Macquarie University and has become one of the Physiotherapists at Castle Hill.

For six years she worked extensively with the Greater Western Sydney Giants AFL team as a senior massage therapist and sports trainer. She has also worked with the Sydney Kings Men’s Basketball Team since 2007 and is currently the Massage Director for the team. Her work in basketball includes working with the Australian men’s and women’s teams at national training and selection camps.

Vanessa has represented Australia in Rhythmic Gymnastics and understands the strains the body can be placed under while competing in elite sport. Having suffered from many injuries herself, she has a great interest in rehabilitation and uses her knowledge of Exercise Physiology and Physiotherapy to personalise her patients’ rehabilitation programs.

Vanessa completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science (ACU) and Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology (ACU). She has also competed additional courses in Pilates Mat Work, Advanced Taping/Strapping Course, and Dry Needling.

Craig graduated from the University of Sydney in 1994 and has over 26 years’ experience as a physiotherapist. Craig worked in the public health system and then overseas before returning to Australia and starting in private practice. Craig has a great deal of experience in dealing with sporting injuries, orthopaedic conditions and work based injuries. He has an interest in running, pain management, headache management, chronic pain, golf related injuries and biomechanical disorders and is qualified to perform dry needling. Craig is located at our Castle Hill Physiotherapy location.

Craig has been involved in the management of players of many sporting teams including NSW Swifts, Baulkham Hills Netball Association, Baulkham Hill Cricket and Blacktown Softball Associations. He enjoys the social interaction involved with physiotherapy and the satisfaction with helping clients. He enjoys all sports but particularly golf and baseball.

Not only is Craig a keen sportsman himself, he has also owned and operated his own practice in the past so understands the pressure involved in getting athletes and workers ready for a smooth and efficient return to sport or work.

Steve graduated from the University of Sydney in 1994 and prior to that completed a Science degree at the University of Newcastle. Steve has worked as a physiotherapist for over 23 years. After first working in the public health system Steve moved into private practice at Sports Focus Physiotherapy Liverpool in 1996. He is now located at our Castle Hill Physiotherapy and Mt Pritchard Physiotherapy locations.

Steve has worked with many elite sports teams and sportspersons over the years ranging from local to national, including Penrith Panthers Rugby League, Mounties Rugby League, Michael Wendon Swimming and the NSW Open Water Swim Team, Netball NSW, Hockey NSW and The Australian Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Teams.

Steve has special interests in golf related injuries and biomechanics, and is an accredited TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Specialist. Steve is a consultant Physiotherapist for Hockey NSW and looks after the NSW Mens AHL Team.

He is Head Physiotherapist for Mounties Rugby League. Steve provides a musculoskeletal screening service and Pre-Pointe Assessment for dancers, and has a special interest in treating spinal and pelvic conditions and uses Muscle Energy Techniques. Steve is qualified to perform dry needling and is a preferred provider for New South Wales Institute of Sport, Australia Post and Wesfarmers.

On weekends Steve loves to cycle with friends and regularly participate in charity rides such as the MS Sydney to Wollongong ride.

He was named as Physiotherapist for the NSW Swifts Netball Team on the 1st November 2017 for the 2018 season commencing on the 29th April 2018. Sports Focus Physiotherapy is also providing a sponsorship to the NSW Swifts.

Giuseppina completed her Diploma Of Remedial Massage Therapy in Decembre 2020 while she has been collaborating as volunteer massage therapist of Marconi Stallions Football Club, treating the mean team’s soccer players. She was a soccer player herself in the local team in her country Italy so interested in athlete related injuries treatments. She is passionate in natural therapies as she is certificated by DoTerra in Aromatherapy Massage since 2017, also she is been certified in Lymphatic Drainage, Reflexology, Pregnancy Massage, Deep Tissue as specializations by Australian College of Sport and Fitness. Giuseppina enjoys treating people in different stages of life as she believes massage can help in many different ways.
