Matthew graduated from the University of Sydney in 2015 with a Masters of Physiotherapy and a Bachelor of Health Science (majoring in movement sciences). His interest in physiotherapy emerged while assessing human movement and diagnosing muscle imbalances and acute injuries. Matt’s true passion is transitioning his client’s painful injuries into robust rehabilitation programs and getting them back to the things they love.
Matt is currently a Football Australian physiotherapist with the “Future Matildas” squad and travels with the Young Matildas U20 & U23 National women’s teams. He has been the team physio for the Sydney Blue Sox in the Australian Baseball League, North Shore MAriners, Marconi Stallions FC and Hakoah FC in the National Premier League, and was involved with Norths Rugby in the Shute Shield and various other school and club sport.
Since graduating Matt has commenced the pathway to become a specialist sports physiotherapist. He has completed various other qualifications such as the NeckSafe spinal safety program. Vivian Yung graduated from the University of Sydney with first class honours in 2010. She has worked in the Royal North Shore Hospital’s outpatient and orthopaedic departments and private practices before joining Sports Focus Physiotherapy in 2012.
Vivian has undertaken further studies with the Australian Physiotherapy Association in the area of Women’s Pelvic Health and is currently completing a Masters degree in Pelvic Health with the University of Melbourne. She is using this advancement in her knowledge to supplement her Pilates rehabilitation and exercise to help women through pregnancy aches and pains and post-natal recovery.
She also has a special interest in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, in particular neck and back pain, running and gait analysis. Her evidence-based physiotherapy research led her to her honours research on low back pain and patient satisfaction. In 2011, she presented her research paper at the International Congress of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy in Amsterdam.
Outside of work, Vivian enjoys time with her young family, going outdoors, camping and playing sports. She represented Australia in four World Kendo Championships, achieving 3rd place in team event in 2018 and a top 16 individual result in 2009 and 2012. Ben has been a physiotherapist for over 20 years and has worked with elite winter snow sport athletes over this period whom he loves helping prepare to achieve their goals in skiing and snowboarding. Ben has been a NSW Institute of Sport preferred service provider 2000-19, Australian Paralympic Team Physiotherapist 1997-2004 and is a National Alpine Classifier with the Australian Paralympic Committee. He is an International Para Alpine and Para Snowboarder Classifier. Ben has also been an Olympic Winter Institute Australia physiotherapist. Ben is located at our Northbridge Physiotherapy and Willoughby Physiotherapy locations.
In addition to his love for snow sports, Ben loves diagnosing running injuries and picking apart running styles. He particularly enjoys the personal side of physiotherapy – “I love that I get to learn something from all my patients. Everyone is an expert at something and I am inquisitive and full of questions.”

Anna has a clinical background and passion for treating sports, spinal and musculoskeletal injuries for both elite and recreational athletes. Her varied experience in Defence and private practice provides the importance of the rehabilitation pathway for people to return to their pre-injury level.
Anna has pursued continuing education through completion of a research study as part of her Doctoral thesis utilising clinical Pilates exercises for chronic low back pain. This study provides an evidence base for individualised programs and exercise as a treatment modality for chronic low back pain. Currently she is undertaking another study on the effectiveness of exercise programs for personnel participating in Adaptive Sports Programs as part of her role within the ADF.

James Lau completed his Masters of Physiotherapy degree in 2013 at University of Sydney. He previously did his training in Toronto, Canada receiving a Bachelor & Honors in Science specialising in Neuroscience and Health Studies.
He has done several courses after university such as fascial dry needling, functional movement assessment, and soft tissue mobilisation techniques. James is located at our Northbridge Physiotherapy & Pilates and Willoughby Physiotherapy locations. His passion lies in sports and he is one of the physiotherapists for the West Harbour Pirates Rugby Club where he assesses and treats on and off the field and provides a structured rehab program for the players
He plans to further his training and knowledge in functional screening with SFMA (selective functional movement assessment) level 2 and FMS (functional movement screening) Level 1 and 2 in the near future.
Although he misses the snow in Toronto and a proper white Christmas, he has settled into Sydney lifestyle and has adopted the Sydney Swans as his team to follow in replace of the Toronto Raptors.

Sean graduated from University College Dublin with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. He began his career working in a well renowned musculoskeletal clinic and in the National Orthopaedic hospital in Dublin. Sean has treated a range of acute and chronic patients of all ages using a combination of manual therapy and exercise based medicine.
Sean is currently the physiotherapist for the Sydney Grammar Rugby and basketball programmes and has previously worked in high level Rugby, basketball and Gaelic football in Ireland.
Sean has recently specialised in Strength and Conditioning by obtaining his Australian Strength and Conditioning Level 1 Certificate.
He also has become a GLAD Australia certified knee and hip Osteoarthritis clinician.
Having played Elite level basketball in Ireland for UCD Marian basketball Club, represented Ireland at u18 level and playing Gaelic football at senior level, Sean has a passion for sport and an extensive understanding of playing sport at an elite level and maintaining a healthy body.
